Friday 20 June 2014 - An Update From Tewantin and a New Adventure

It has been some time since my last post to this blog.  Life has been pretty humdrum but quite satisfying.  I have been riding my bike, delivering Meals On Wheels and presenting talks  at my computer club.  I walk Louis twice a day.  In the mornings with Jo and her two cattle dogs, Paws and Shelly, and with Betty in the afternoons with her little Tenterfield Terrier, Bella.
On the health front I had a little scare with "old man's prostate" but it was nothing serious and is being controlled by medication.
Around the house I decided to get rid of the recline and lift chair which I bought for Margaret in the nursing home.  I had had it fixed but it had become very dilapidated.  I bought  a smaller chair and footstool to take its place in my little family room.  I intended to use it to  sit back while my dinner cooked in the adjacent kitchen.  Now Louis used to use the old chair as his domain and wasn't too happy with the change.  A day or so after the new chair arrived I was sitting in it while replying to an email from sister S and commented that Louis was sitting on the floor staring at me.  I said that he wanted the new chair.   Blow me when I got up to attend to my dinnet I looked around to find that he had taken over.  Now it is a battle for the seat.
Anyway I have decided to do something quite different.  Loius goes in kennels this afternoon and tomorrow I go on a rail journey to the Queensland Outback where I will do the tourist thing for a few days before returning home next Friday.  The train is The Spirit Of the Outback and I have booked a first class sleeping compartment both ways which includes dining in the posh restaurant with wine provided.  The journey takes about 24 hours and should be fun.
I have resurrected my android tablet and Bluetooth keyboard and if I can get 3G WiFi  will give a daily update of my adventure.  Betty says that there is probably  some rich young, or at   least under seventy, woman just waiting for me!
