Escape to the Gold Coast - Part 1

I have just about run out of places around the Sunshine Coast to take Helen to so have arranged a three night break to the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast is the largest city outside of Brisbane in Queensland and I have booked an apartment on the southern side at Burleigh Heads which is a away from the main tourist areas of Surfer's Paradise.

We lest home on Monday the 5th  at 9.00am to drop Louis into kennels and he made a real fuss.  We drove 100km and stopped at a Service Station to top up with fuel and have a morning tea stop.  Then it was over the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges    and on to the Gold Coast.  We stopped before Burleigh Heads at the large Robina shopping centre where we bought a few things for breakfast and some grog for the evening.

I had booked the apartment at Booking.com which is based in the Netherlands and took the best priced available two bedroomed  apartment in Burleigh Heads.  It looked OK and was very reasonably priced at $495.00 for up to five people for three nights.  We took some time finding it but it is a lovely place.

I hade chosen a ground floor apartment which gave us aun outside patio area for alfresco dining.

I also got my own area outside my bedroom.

We have a comfortable lounge area.

This our flash kitchen.

That is Surfer's Paradise in the distance.

We had dinner at the local Surf Life Saving Club. They do a special for two - garlic bread for starters and a choice of main course plus a bottle of wine.  We both had battered barramundi.  Total cost $49.00.  Tonight we will have steak.

Walking back to the apartment.

Today we are off for a drive up through the concrete jungle to Sea World on of Margaret's favourite places.
