On Saturday night Louis, my little dog, woke me up twice to go in the garden. During Sunday he was very subdued but was still quite happy. Overnight he was very restless and in the morning I found out that he had vomited in the hallway. He didn't want to eat on Monday or go for walks. Monday night he was very sick and in addition to vomiting he had bloody diarrhoea in the hallway.
So on Tuesday I took him to the vet's where I was told that he was dangerously dehydrated and had a very sore tummy. Test were required to find out what was wrong so he was admitted into their little hospital for blood tests and X-rays.
Next morning he was more comfortable on painkillers and antibiotics but still had diarrhoea. He had stopped passing blood. The X-rays showed that he didn't have a bowel obstruction but the blood tests showed that he has been suffering from pancreatiitis. He spent Wednesday night in hospital and this morning he was given the all clear to come. He has two different antibiotics and is on a special low fat diet. I had to take him to the kennels with tins of his special food, a big package of special hard food and his antibiotics. He made a fuss when I drove off but as l looked back he was trotting down the path with his tail up. He actually loves being in kennels.

Now I am at home with bag packed and ready to go in the morning.
