NORMAL SERVICE HAS BEEN RESUMED

It has been a long time since my last post way back when I was still recoverring from my broken ankle. Well it wasn't until 15 May 2013 that I was able to walk without my "Moon Boot" and get around using a walking stick.  My surgeon said that the ankle would be sore and subject to swelling for some time but I should walk as much as possible  and wean myself of the stick as I became more confident.  He said that I could return to cycling as soon as I felt able to get on and off the bike safely.

I made the decision to take a brief visit back to the UK.  I arranged to stay with my sister Ian Birmingham for week ,  then stay in hotel in Sunbury on Thames for a few days while I caught up with my brother and after a family reunion  at my niece's house in Ascot return to Birmingham for a few days.  It was a great visit. Sue and Kirsten were great hosts and I had a great time including canal trips, theatre  and concert performances country drives and good.   Alan and I had  long talks and walks. The highlight of the trip was family gathering at Madeleine and Martin's.

The family gathering.  Sue, myself and Alan in the middle front.

On my return to Tewantin  I  finally got rid of my stick, restarted my Meals on Wheels deliveries and am back to riding my bicycle.

This is being sent using my new Android tablet which will be used in my next adventure.  More soon.
